Beyond magazine breaks new ground as a one-of-a-kind publication catering to extreme sports enthusiasts. Its debut issue is dedicated to celebrating female skateboarders worldwide.
Faced with limited image resources, I embarked on a creative journey to ensure this magazine stands out amidst the landscape of extreme sports publications. My innovative approach combines illustrations and photography, blending artistic elements to craft a visually captivating experience.
A vibrant colour palette takes centre stage, symbolising the energy and achievement of female skateboarders while also making a bold statement. The incorporation of dynamic lines metaphorically represents the fluid movement of skateboarding and the ongoing evolution of female skaters within the skateboard scene.
Through this unique fusion of illustration, photography, and design elements, "Beyond" magazine aims to push boundaries and elevate the representation of female skateboarders to new heights.
This brief was formulated as a student project at Shillington School of Graphic Design.
